Dione and her quartet performed to a packed house crowd at the All-Canadian Jazz Festival in Port Hope Ontario. Check out the exciting line up at www.allcanadianjazz.ca for this wonderful weekend of jazz.
Alumni Dione Taylor has been nominated to represent Humber College for the Premiers Award for recent graduates of Ontario. This award presented annually honors the important social and economic contributions graduates make to Ontario. These nominees demonstrate career success related to their college experience as well as a significant contribution to their community.
Dione is currently in the studio recording her sophomore album with legendary pianist, organist and producer Doug Riley.
This exciting new recording, set to be released in the spring of 2006, features guest appearances by world-renowned jazz artists such as Benny Green and saxophone giant Pat LaBarbera. Look for a sneak preview of new tracks on Dione's website www.dionetaylor.com in the near future.
Year In Review
It's been a very exciting year for Dione. Her debut album "Open Your Eyes" (Matay Records) has been critically acclaimed with nominations for Vocal Jazz Album of the Year at the 2005 Juno Awards, Jazz Recording of the Year at the 2004 Canadian Urban Music Awards, Vocalist of the Year at the Canadian National Jazz Awards and was selected as one of the Top Recordings of 2004 at JAZZFM 91.1.

Just recently Dione has had pleasure of performing with music legends Patti Labelle, the Neville Brothers and Ann Peebles in the headlining spot at Le Festival International de Jazz de Montreal.
Bravo TV produced and broadcast a documentary piece about Dione Taylor and her music for the Arts and Minds program. Dione was featured as their Artist of the Week. Click here to view the video clip.
Dione has had the honor of performing for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh, and Canadian music icon Joni Mitchell on the CBC National Television broadcast of the Saskatchewan Centennial Gala for the Arts.
In June of 2004, Ms. Taylor was invited by Dr. Billy Taylor (no relation) to perform with his trio for a celebration commemorating Black Music Month in the United States. The ceremony was held at The White House in Washington D.C. before an appreciative crowd of dignitaries including the President of the United States and the First Lady.
